AIPPM Strategy — Indian Politics in the Committee Room

The All India Political Parties Meet is the most theatrical committee in the Indian MUN circuit. Delegates portray Indian political party leaders. The procedure is loose. The performance is everything.

Allocation

You will likely be asked for preferences. INC, BJP, AAP, TMC, DMK and SP are the most contested. Smaller parties — JD(U), AIUDF, RJD — are easier to win Best Delegate from because the EB notices when you make a small party loud.

Portrayal

Speak as the leader. Reference their actual statements, their voting records, their alliances. AIPPM rewards research into Indian political history that most delegates skip.

When to Break Ranks

AIPPM is the one committee where defection is rewarded. Walking out of a coalition mid-session, on principle, with a quotable line, is the single most awarded action in AIPPM history.

In AIPPM, theatre is substance. The EB cannot tell them apart and is not trying to.
